Our Story

How it all started...

Berean Community Church at Sugarloaf (BCCS) finds its origins as the English ministry of Sugarloaf Korean Baptist Church (SKBC). Wanting to reach the many international cultures in our community, SKBC renamed the ministry to Sugarloaf International Fellowship (SIF) in 2012 — creating an intercultural community where people from all nations could worship together. In 2022, with a heart for planting churches, SKBC planted the English ministry as its own congregation, now known as BCCS. We continue that same mission and vision: to reach all peoples and make disciples of Christ in the greater Atlanta area.

Expanding the vision...

Our mission is to aspire to Christlikeness and inspire Christlikeness in one another — all for God’s glory and the growing of His kingdom. At BCCS, this vision goes beyond Sunday gatherings. We’re committed to planting new churches, reaching people from all nations, and making disciples who make disciples. As our community grows, we want to be a place where every culture and generation can know Jesus, grow deeper in faith, and share His love with the world. Join us as we keep expanding this vision together!

Where we are headed...

We believe that expanding the vision means raising up people who will carry it forward. At BCCS, we’re committed to developing Christlike leaders — pastors, missionaries, and everyday disciple-makers — who will go into our neighborhoods and to the nations with the good news of Jesus. We want to be a church that equips and sends, investing in the next generation to serve faithfully wherever God calls them. We believe strong families are vital to this mission — so we create spaces where every age can grow in Christ together. As we grow, our hope is to see new leaders sent out to plant churches, reach the unreached, and build communities that reflect the love and truth of Christ.
